Merchandise Planner

The Company:

Our client is a leading apparel retailer with both brick and mortar and a strong eCommerce presence, that is passionate about bringing on-trend and value-focused product ranges to their customer.

The Merchandise Planner will managing their own categories and lead the end-to-end planning cycle, from developing category strategies to overseeing allocations across their 200-store network, including online, retail, and outlet stores.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and manage Open-to-Buy, markdown strategies and inventory plans to achieve sales, margin, and profit goals
  • Work together on seasonal reviews and create forward-thinking merchandise plans
  • Maximise stock allocation and replenishment across all channels.
  • Focus on core and repeat lines 
  • Produce detailed weekly trade reports, identify growth opportunities, and recommend actionable improvements
  • Analyse data to unlock full sales potential
  • Work closely with logistics and distribution teams to forecast and manage inventory flow
  • Continuously improve planning processes to enhance efficiency and profitability, while maintaining momentum and productivity

To be successful within the role, you will have:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, apparel experience essential
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Stellar communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders
  • Commercial acumen with a trade focused approach
